Work Engagement

The Work Engagement Inventory (WEI) is a tool that assesses individuals across eleven dimensions that are critically important to effectiveness and engagement in a wide variety of jobs.  It is often usd in selecting plant and production employees.

A primary use is to determine whether the candidate will be engaged at work and will have good attendance and retention.  Another use of the WEI is to determine whether a candidate will: collaborate on teams, adapt to change, be dependable, follow procedures, show initiative, and work safely.

Applications of the WEI

This Internet-based interest inventory may be used in a variety of settings:

  • Large-scale Screening.  The WEI is a cost-effective way to screen out candidates from a large application pool.
  • Pre-Employment Measurement.  The WEI provides key insight into the eleven dimensions related to engagement.  The Profile Report gives detailed information about a candidate’s scores on 11 dimensions.
  • Employee Job Placement.  The WEI may be used post-hire to place new employees in a position or job site where they are most likely to fit in and be in alignment with the demands of the work environment.
  • Career Counseling.  The WEI provides insights into an individual’s Work Styles, which helps identify an individual’s  “fit” with jobs and work environments.
