Audience and Use
The ART—VT is an ability test that measures an individual’s ability to reason, solve problems, and understand complex relationships. it is most often used in a pre-employment or selection setting to identify high potentials. It is designed for people who have a High School degree, or up to two years of Vocational or Technical training after High School. It is suited for jobs such as:
- Technicians & Production Operators
- Maintenance & Repair Workers
- Transportation & Materials Management Workers
- Construction & Extraction Workers
- Protective Services Workers
The ART—VT may be administered over the Internet or using paper and pencil.
What it Measures
The ART—VT assesses three primary cognitive abilities and provides scores on each of these abilities, as well as a combined, overall score. The test’s sections and their corresponding time limits are as follows:
- Verbal Reasoning (20 minutes)
- Numerical Reasoning (15 minutes)
- Abstract Reasoning (15 minutes)
ART Results/Reports
Results are provided in reference to norms comprised of a broad group of Vocational and Technical employees. Scores are provided in terms of percentile standing, which allows the user to compare job candidates to others in similar positions.
